Choose How You Prep: Flexibility Meets Personalization

For the busiest bees, private 1-on-1 tutoring offers the ultimate in flexibility and customization. We know schedules can be tight; that’s why we go the extra mile to meet your needs.
But flexibility isn’t our only strong suit. At Foley Prep, we’re in the business of effective, tailored education. Our average group size is a cozy duo—yes, you read that right, just 2 students—with a hard cap of 8 young scholars per group. Why? Because we don’t believe in the assembly line approach to education. We think your child deserves more than a cookie-cutter lesson plan. Our expert tutors—let's call them Foley Fellows for now—masterfully adapt on the fly. Whether it’s mini-lessons, drills, or strategy reviews, we mold our approach to fit the unique abilities and needs of each student. In the Foley universe, ‘one-size-fits-all’ is about as popular as a pop quiz on a Monday morning.
Ready to give mediocrity the boot and elevate your child’s learning journey? Contact us today and discover the Foley difference.
The four ways to prep at Foley Include:

1-on-1 In-Person Tutoring
For those who need maximum flexibility in their schedules. All tutoring is in-person at one of our 7 locations, with room for exceptions (bad weather, sick day, etc.)
Small Group In-Person Tutoring Recommended Score Ranges: SAT 1050-1300 / ACT 21-28
Flexible, class-style tutoring at your own pace. Average class size is less than 3 students with no more than 8 students in a single class. We can help you design your schedule or you can register online throughout the week, all year round. We recommend that you register at least 24 hours in advance so that our Foley Prep Pros can customize each lesson to the group.
7-8 Week Summer Progressive SAT/ACT Programs Recommended Score Ranges: SAT 1050-1300 / ACT 21-28
Traditional cohort-style, small group tutoring with a set group of students who meet the same days and times every week. Classes are designed for 3-8 students with the same teachers (for each subject) every session. These programs are geared towards folks who prefer a defined start date, end date, and curriculum.
Online Tutoring
All online options are available for all the same subjects as In-Person tutoring: SAT/ACT Prep, most high school subjects to the AP-level, and expert help with English papers. Available for students who enjoy the convenience of online tutoring from home and for families always on the go. We conduct sessions via Zoom, FaceTime, Google Meet, Discord… we’ll meet students anywhere!

Choose the program that's right for you.

Select one of the options above depending on your current score, how much time you have before an exam, the intensity level you want, and your budget.

For the Silver and Gold programs, the ideal plan would be to start with a diagnostic mock SAT or ACT, then take 3-4 sessions, sit for another mock test, then do an hour of private tutoring to go over the mock test. Repeat this pattern, leaving 2 sessions for the week leading up to the actual test. Most students take 2 sessions a week, but you are free to vary the intensity based on your scheduling constraints. Please keep in mind these packages expire 180 days after the first session is taken.

The 12 Session package is similar to the programs described above but doesn't include any private tutoring hours. A typical way to use the sessions would be to sit for the diagnostic mock SAT or ACT, then take 4 sessions, sit for another mock exam, then take 4 more sessions, sit for the second mock exam, and then use the last 4 sessions in the week leading up to the actual test. This package expires 1 year after purchase, so it is a good fit for students with very demanding non-prepping schedules who may not be able to commit to the other more intense programs.

1-on-1 tutoring is the option for a student who needs maximum scheduling flexibility or wants the prep time 100% focused on his or her needs. If a student has a starting score above 1400 (29 ACT) or below 1000 (21 ACT) we strongly recommend 1-on-1 tutoring. Sessions are normally 1.5 hours long. 1.5 hours tends to be the sweet spot - long enough to really dig in to the material but not so long that the student loses focus. Mock tests are bundled with tutoring packages and should be taken every 3 to 4.5 hours of 1-on-1 tutoring.

Plan ahead

A little planning can take a lot of stress out of the process. 1-on-1 and semi-private availability can vary, so it's always best to reach out to us at your earliest convenience. Our most successful SAT and ACT students call us by spring of 10th grade. We take a consultative approach, giving advice based on our experience helping more than 15,000 New Jersey students achieve their highest scores, grades, and top-choice college acceptances.

Cancellation Policy

1-on-1 tutoring: full-charge for appointments rescheduled/canceled within 48 hours. During peak times (February, March, July, August) appointment cancellation is much more restrictive (up to 4 weeks notice needed).

Small group tutoring: students who do miss booked 90-minute lessons will not have them charged against their account.
